Waiting for Godot . . . er . . . Baby

There are a lot of things on my baby "to-do" list.Michael and I are still trying to pick the perfect baby name, and we still need to find a daycare for after I go back to work in the fall, but I crossed an important item off of the list this weekend. Baby is going to have an awesome quilt to meet her in June!

My mom, my sister and I went shopping for fabric yesterday.  I'm still torn about how to decorate the baby's room. We painted the room green in November, but haven't really decided on a theme, if we do a theme at all. (I love Winnie-the-Pooh, but Daddy makes jokes about poo every time I mention it, so I'm not sure I really want to put Pooh decals all over the walls . . .)

After shopping this weekend, it is clear that our little June Bug is going to have turtles in her room - and dragonflies - and butterflies - and flowers.  Maybe we'll find some frogs, snails, bumblebees, and ladybugs to add to the mix.

These are the fabrics we picked out for her quilt.  The turtles are a soft flannel and will be the backing; the other prints will make up the front of the quilt.  The top one is purple with dragonflies, followed by a bright green with polka dots, an orange with purple, green, yellow, and pink flowers, purple with paw prints, green with white daisies, white with pink, purple, orange, and green flowers, light purple butterflies on a purple background, and a dark green swirl on light green.  I wasn't planning on the turtles or the orange when we set out yesterday, but they both make me happy. (And Michael likes them a lot.)

Here's a picture of Oliver snuggling his sister.  I think he's been stocking up on snuggles now, before he loses  his place on my lap . . .
